Nonlinear analysis and applied math reading course

This week, we will study the first section of the book by Struwe "Variational Methods". Main results about the existence of a minimizer for a functional will be derived and applied to derive existence of solutions for several PDE's. This is a first step to understand more difficult Lagrangian that arise in gauge field theory.

Organized by Marcello Lucia (Mathematics and Physics, College of Staten Island and The Graduate Center, CUNY), the nonlinear analysis and applied mathematics reading course will meet online this spring semester, every Tuesday at 5:00 - 6:30 PM ET.
