Advanced undergraduate and early graduate students in science are invited
to participate in tutorials accompanying a number of symposia this semester.
Supported in part by the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation and led by CUNY faculty and doctoral students in physics, the tutorials will merge with symposia topics to prepare and encourage student participation at our fall virtual symposia events. CUNY students and students from underrepresented institutions in the U.S. are especially encouraged to apply.
Below is a list of this semester’s tutorial+symposium offerings. Please apply at the bottom of the page.
Readings will be recommended by symposium speakers and assigned in advance to registered students.
Participants will meet via Zoom for 1.5 hr on Wednesdays at 12PM (Eastern Time). Wednesday tutorials will provide the basics to orient students on issues and state of research relevant to Friday’s symposium. Discussion meetings may be scheduled for the following Wednesday after the symposium (TBA).
By registering, students will be eligible to participate in ALL semester tutorials. A single Zoom link will provide access to all tutorials; students can attend as many tutorials as they wish. Please be reminded that you must register separately to attend the symposia.
