The Center for the Physics of Biological Function (CPBF) is accepting Spring applications for the Mar 25 symposium Physics of Life - Students and Postdocs Edition, to be held at The Graduate Center, CUNY.

Organized by the CPBF, the Physics of Life symposia engage with topics related to the physics of biological systems, broadly defined. In March, we hope to hear from 9 qualified junior speakers from diverse backgrounds and affiliations. Each speaker will have 20 minutes for presentation and 10 minutes for Q&A.

We encourage Ph.D. students and postdoctoral fellows interested in presenting their work to submit a short online application by Monday, February 21. Click here to access the online application. Your application includes the title and abstract of your proposed talk and a short CV.

In addition, applicants should ask an advisor to send a letter of recommendation (.pdf, .doc, or e-mail message) on their behalf to Goeun Minshall gminshall@gc.cuny.edu with the subject line: “Mar 25 Physics of Life: Speaker recommendation.” The letter of recommendation is due by the application deadline (Feb 21). We hope to begin notifying speakers on Friday, March 4.

*At the moment, we anticipate this symposium to be held in-person and virtually at The Graduate Center in NYC. For speakers outside NYC willing to travel and provide proof of vaccination to campus security in advance, travel and lodging will be provided by the CPBF.
