On obtaining causality in neuroscience

Konrad Kording, Ph.D.,

University of Pennsylvania

I will start building some intuition on why causality is generally difficult to assert. I will continue reviewing why causality is hard to achieve with the specific constraints of neuroscience. I will then sketch some situations where causality can be confidently asserted. Lastly, I will discuss the wide range of non-causal questions in neuroscience.
