Classical complexity of quantum sensing: A practical case
ANTONELLo scardicchio
I will discuss the theoretical difficulties which are encountered in optimizing quantum protocols for sensors beating the quantum limits. I will then present the practical case of a magnetic field sensor made of NV centers in diamond, and how, by analyzing the statistical mechanics of the classical optimization problem, one can produce a fast protocol which beats the state of the art sensitivity.
