Spectrum Broadcast Structures And Quantum Origins Of Objectivity
Jaroslaw Korbicz

I will present a brief introduction to advanced forms of decoherence known under the name of quantum Darwinism and its connection to the problem of objectivity in quantum mechanics. The latter arises as a part of the quantum-to-classical transition since quantum observations in general disturb the observed system, yet in everyday life we see the world as objective. I will concentrate especially on a rigorous tool known as Spectrum Broadcast Structures (SBS). These are specific, multipartite quantum states encoding a certain operational notion of objectivity. I will define them, show how they can be derived from first principles, and briefly overview their appearance in well known models of open quantum systems.
