Chaos indicators and time scales for equilibration

Lea Santos
Yeshiva University

In this talk, various indicators of quantum chaos will be discussed and compared, including level statistics,
structure of eigenstates, matrix elements of observables, and out-of-time ordered correlators.
Particular attention will be given to the correlation hole, which is a dynamical manifestation of spectral correlations.
We use it to discuss the time scales involved in the relaxation process of isolated many-body quantum systems.
While there is consensus on what equilibration and thermalization mean in these systems, there is no agreement on how long they take to reach equilibrium.
